Various Types of Baking Schools to Choose From
Despite what people might think, not every culinary school is the same as the next one. Certificate Program

Diploma Program
This type of program is very much akin to a certificate program, and will be found in culinary Institutes or other vocational or baking schools. Associates Program
When an individual signs up into an Associates degree program, normally it is a two-year stint. These courses will include training in the culinary arts as well as some other academic courses like business management. The majority of Associates programs are going to be geared toward students who wish to have a career in the management aspect of the culinary field.
Bachelors Degree Program
Most of the Universities and colleges will have these bachelors degree programs. For the first two years of study, liberal arts courses will take up most of a students time. These courses will be followed up with courses that are a little more focused after the student gets down the basics. The majority of the training will be around the topics of restaurant management and hospitality training. You’ll also be given focus on some of the basic culinary techniques. A bachelors degree is a really good asset to have if you are looking for a career in the management field.

Full-Time Student Programs
Students enrolled in these types of full-time classes will normally start their course early in the day and get out of school in the early afternoon. This would be just like the time period involved in going to regular grade school. If a student has the ability to commit to a full-time schedule, then he/her will be able to finish their culinary courses in a much more rapid time frame. This type of option most likely will only be available for students with good financial aid, scholarships, or people with plenty of money, as this type of schedule makes it very difficult to work a full-time job.
Nighttime or Evening Classes
For individuals who don’t have the financing or the means to be able to go to school full-time, they will find night classes a lot more convenient if for no other reason than they will be able to work during the day. Most of the time classes will only last a few hours each evening. The downside to taking night or evening pastry chef classes is the fact that the culinary training is going to take a lot longer to complete than in full-time courses.
Accreditation For Baking Schools
When a person is looking for a baking school, it is important that they make sure that the school or institution has been accredited. This means that they have been given a recognition for meeting or exceeding all of the regional standards that are required for the educational requirements. Seekers will find that most of the universities, colleges, and community colleges that have pastry and/or baking programs are going to be accredited.
